In 2023, we asked a question that most of AI would rather ignore: before we can build AI that excels humanity, do we actually understand what makes humans human?
The field had spent decades encoding human behavior at scale — training models on outputs, not on the cognitive architecture that produced those outputs. Optimizing for performance on benchmarks designed by people who couldn't yet define the very thing they were attempting to measure.
OptimumAI began as an answer to that question. We built the Agency Engine — the first infrastructure for measuring human consciousness as a rich, multi-dimensional signal. Not a quiz score. Not a personality test. The actual cognitive fingerprint that makes each person uniquely human.
Two years later, that infrastructure has become a global research community of 10,000+ members across 80+ countries. We've run assessment cohorts, built domain-specific LLMs, and watched patterns emerge in the people who break through — who publish real research, who build real products, who think differently under pressure.
Those patterns became the Agency Signal. And the Agency Signal became OptimumLLM — the first multimodal LLM trained not just on language, but on the full spectrum of human cognition: text patterns, vocal tone, micro-expressions, and independent reasoning under social pressure.
